First Post

Not to be boring or at all presumptuous, this is yet another home-brewer's blog.  Really this will be a place for me and my home-brewing buddies to share recipes and information on our passion, which is, brewing the beer that we want to drink, at home.

So this is me.  That's right.  The ugly guy to the right.  I will be posting rants, recipes, notes, brewing vids, or really anything that I feel like.

I really want to start to keep track of my brews as far as dates and fermentation notes and the like.  That is a big reason for this blog.

A little about me.  I am 37.  I have been brewing for about 4 years off and on.  My user name on homebrewtalk is hirmabiram.  Hit me up sometime.

 My brother Jason and I started in 2009 brewing 5 gallon partial mash batches from kits we bought from an online store.  These days I am brewing with my brother Chris and we are brewing all grain 5 and 10 gallon batches.  I don't brew as much as I would like but I am hoping that quickly changes.

My wife supports the hobby and she is the biggest fan of my creations.  Most of the time I follow recipes that I find online.  Currently I am fermenting a SMaSH ale (Single Malt and Single Hop) using maris otter and amarillo hops.  I came up with that recipe on my own.  (w00t).  I use a free beer software called brew target and you can download it here.
